Elevator Pitch: Share a concise summary. This will be the introductory text about this pitch that viewers will see.
The Né Rosa microbrewery brings a new concept in beers. This company will work with a new niche in the beer market, we’ll develop the "medicinal" beers. Our first product is the diabetics Beer, which is composed by yacon potato. Being a healthy alternative to beer for diabetics or obese people.
Problem: What problem does your solution address?
The number of people with diabetes now affects 10% of the world population(and still growing every year) and the number of overweight people now exceeds 1.4 billion in the world according to the UN. These people with these diseases can drink beer, but with a certain limit to not harm your health. The beer market aimed at this audience is extremely small, almost insignificant, when there is a beer with low carbohydrate, it is extremely expensive!
Solution: What is the proposed solution?
Our innovation is the solution! The brewery right pink beers designed to work with people who "cannot" drink beer. Our first product will be yacon beer, drafted primarily by yacon potato and other ingredients, as well as specific microorganisms fermentation to avoid losing the properties of this powerful sugars potato! The beer made with these kinds of ingredients will have quantitates significant of slow absorption of sugar, which for people with diabetes is great, because it is not starch in beer, but a carbohydrate that will be distributed in a way slow and gradual, assisting in daily blood glucose levels equally, besides possessing very few carbohydrates, as a consequence a little less amount of alcohol and about 40% fewer calories.
Founding Story: Share a story about the “Aha!” moment that led you to get started and/or to see the potential for this to succeed.
It started with small family events, I was at a dinner and realized that some uncles and cousins did not drink beer, those who drank, drank some and others just avoided her with a sad face. I asked them the reason for this restriction, some told me it was from diabetes and others why they were avoiding large amounts of calories. A time has passed and there I was in a class of my course of biotechnological engineering and was introduced to some benefits of yacon potato and BOOM! I started to think about a product with the inulin benefits and remembered my family who avoided beer, with a product of this kind they would not need to worry! The numbers of target costumers encouraged me a lot to facilitate their lifestyle and create my startup.
Select Sector(s): To which of Unilever's categories of sustainability does your solution apply?

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how your solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.
Low cost and health, these two words are the key to this business. The idea of developing a beer with potato yacon aims to reduce the use of malts and the amount of alcohol present in beer, thus enabling higher consumption of this product for people with obesity, diabetes and diseases related to insulin and sugars. This startup is located in the town of Assis, a city with a strong agricultural market and production of legumes and located on a boundary between two states, which makes it a gateway to a wide market. These beers will be produced in order to stimulate and enhance the market for small farmers towards a low-cost production and sale of low-cost, ensuring greater accessibility to healthy products by a diet rich in nutrients.
Audience: Who have you identified as your customers/recipients and why? How will you get your solution to them or engage them in your initiative?

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date and expected impact in the future?
So far this startup has already won an award for academic merit and led me to Babson college in Boston, such as awards, made the "summer college " in entrepreneurship at Babson with a duration of 15 days and also this project I used as my "rocket pitch " completion of course, got the second position with 30 students competing from around the world. This project wants to change the notion that beer is not a healthy food and that only people without disease or not obese can drink without worrying about the scale or your health. It starts with the idea that beer can be healthy , may even be active in preventive medicine, considering that is a fermented product, and they are rich in nutrients beneficial to our body. The long term objective is the creation and production of a big line of beers low cost intended for people with various diseases, and an expansion of this type of craft market.
Growth, Finance & Leadership
Marketplace: Who else is addressing this problem and how does the proposed solution differ from these approaches?
There are several companies in the field of diet and light products, making it a saturated market. However, little is known about industries that are developing beers for diabetics, obese or others who should not drink beers in larger quantities than their condition allows, that is the difference of NÉ ROSA microbrewery. The formula of these lines of beers were thoroughly prepared with all biotechnological engineering knowledge applied for the production of it and to ensure the health and quality of beers produced by this company. This beer line is the first designed for this kind of public.
